Wednesday 25th Dec ... Xmas day and lunch at the Hyatt. Santa hasn't come yet (probably will when we get back to Brisbane) as the sleigh couldn't fit anymore things in it. Tim got a gift from a new friend - Mitchell from Sydney. Back to Brisbane that night.
Thursday 26th Dec ... Still no sign of Santa. Tim has routine blood tests today and also gets platelets. Off to Dreamworld in the afternoon to pat a Tiger. It turned out things didn't go to plan as nobody told the Tiger handlers, so he got to pat a cougar instead. ....a bit disappointed but Tim would never say a bad word against anyone. He wasn't up to the rides apart from a bit of surfin'
Friday 27th Dec ... Santa came last night. It was a different Xmas as the tree was much smaller and the presents less. Nicholas & Andrew were up early (6.00am) so everyone had to get up. Tim played the role of handing out all the presents from under the tree and did a sterling job in the fairest way - youngest to oldest.
We had a late afternoon BBQ with the Uniting Church people and the kids all had fun in their pool. Tim was not up to swimming.
Tim & Gerri back in hospital overnight for more platelets. Tim is very weak and tired indicating the leukemia is taking over. We are now considering coming back early. The Doctor's are concerned he will not get on a plane on the 1st but the next 24 hours will determine how rapidly he is loosing his mighty battle.
Saturday 28th Dec ... Flights changed - we are now coming back on Sunday. After lots of string pulling (thanks to Brooke from the RCH) we got the flights changed without any cost penalty - otherwise it could have cost another $1000 to get home.
Tim had platelets again to ensure he is up to air travel - this time Mark Graham came to hospital with him. One of the nurses asked Mark if he was the AFL footballer Tim talked about - he replied "I'm just Tim's friend"............
Out that night for a counter meal with the Graham family.
Sunday 29th Dec ... Home today. We are helped out to the Airport by Rebecca (Nanny) and her father. They kindly offered the use of their delivery van, which was just as well as we filled the van with luggage. Tim had a good trip on the plane and we were greeted by lots of family & friends. Tim was a bit embarrassed by the people clapping him, but Mum & Dad were very proud of him.
Tim had a ride in a limo home (thanks Paul) with his friends Ryley and Tim. They all thought it was pretty cool watching a video and having a drink whilst waving at the common people. Sadly his other friend David was on the way to the Gold Coast so we missed them by a day.
Monday 30th Dec ... Rest day and started unpacking. Tim was tired and stayed in bed resting between watching TV.
Tuesday 14th Jan ... Tim has spent the past 2 weeks doing lots of fun things with his family. He has seen lots of the latest movies, been to family BBQ's at places like Gumbaya Park, been trout fishing, and even had a sleepover at his friend David's house. He is going well at the moment enjoying life.
