FRIday Dec 6...day 7 Tim had a poor night—very disturbed sleep with diarrhoea and sore bottom and still the occasional shakes (due to temp). His spirits are good considering. He has a sore right knee—using heat pack which is giving him relief. He had this problem two weeks ago in Melb, MMC could not detect any problem`.

RCH has a huge appeal at Xmas (Similar to Good Friday appeal) Radio station B105 FM (equivalent to Melb Fox FM with black thunders and all but no Tracy and Matt) broadcasted live outside the hospital from 6.00am with breakfast and celebs and giveaways—a real carnival atmosphere. Tim was unable to go outside but the kids brought helium balloons, stickers, popcorn, fairy floss, reindeer antler headbands, and food & drink to him. Ronald McDonald, Tweety Bird, Marilyn Monroe & Bugs Bunny from Movie World paid Tim a visit.

Doctors rounds very pleased with his progress. LP clear—good indication its ok (excellent). Chest Xray a bit streaky—either not a big enough breath taken (which is correct) or a virus—not pneumonia. Xray ordered for his knee. Tim needs an albium infusion due to protein loss.

All newly diagnosed children are given a quilt and Tim chose his today, it was made and donated by Riverside Quilters. It is from the Linus project (remember Snoopy) and the idea originated from America.

The Red Cross volunteers come most days and do craft activities with the kids (we still miss you Sonia) and Tim and Sarah made little boxes from old birthday cards.

Phil worked this afternoon and brought back a company car. Negotiated and pleaded with Brisbane City Council for a parking permit. Considering our circumstances it was granted, how could they say No. Thank you very much Jody. Hospital car parking is very expensive and their concession price was $33 for 5 day periods.

Also Thank you Yasmin—the book found me—I think I will enjoy Maleny if we ever get out for the day.

The level of support we have received here and from Melb has been incredible. We thank you all and thank you for your emails—they really help.

Good luck to Tim’s basketball team St Joesphs—shoot lots of baskets and we will be thinking of you tomorrow
